The Committee are delighted to advise that on 6 September 2019 Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council granted full planning approval for our building project, our new church halls complex. With planning secured the aim is to complete the necessary activities so that construction works can commence on site early 2020.
Consequently, the project team are working closely with the various members of the consultant team to complete the detailed design, building specifications and the development of tender documentation for the appointment of the contractor to undertake the building works. It is envisaged tender submissions will be received before the end of the year so that we can formally award the contract for Project 1 in early January and allowing a few weeks for the successful contractor to mobilise, works should commence on-site late January 2020. The construction and fit-out should take approximately twelve months to complete meaning the new facilities should be handed over and operational in January 2021.
Alongside the delivery related activities, the finance team are currently finalising details for the required funding of the project. We are incredibly thankful for the faithful financial support by so many to date and yet the project is in need of more families supporting on a monthly basis. We would be delighted if anyone who isn’t currently making regular donations to the project and is in a position and mind to do so, to please speak to Craig McKeown or Simon Fitzpatrick regarding.
Another opportunity to support the delivery of the project is to supply materials, fixtures, fittings or equipment to help reduce the overall project cost. Should you feel you are in a position to contribute in this way or have any queries please speak directly with Phillip Wright or Johnny Moore.
Discussions with Planners, local Councillors and various other parties are ongoing regarding the potential land swap.
As always your prayerful and financial support are greatly appreciated as we embark on an amazing journey in the life of WPC in the furtherance of God’s kingdom in Waringstown.
