BUILDING PROJECT – Update February 2021

Following the COVID 19 enforced delay, the Committee are delighted to advise that the contract for the construction of the new Church halls was awarded to Moss Construction Limited in January 2021.  This is a very exciting development in the life of Waringstown Presbyterian Church and we are really looking forward to working closely with Moss Construction Limited during the development of these amazing new facilities for the church and the local community.

The existing temporary buildings have been cleared and construction works commenced on site at the start of February with reduced level excavation and drainage works well underway. (See drone footage below)

The construction programme is 12 months with works scheduled to be complete in February 2022. Key milestones to watch out for during the construction programme are the commencement of the structural steel frame in late March 2021, commencement of the superstructure blockwork and brickwork in May 2021 and the building envelope being watertight at the end of the summer.

During the construction works access to the car park and graveyard may be restricted, however regular updates will be provided. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and should you have any specific queries please liaise directly with WPC Facilities Manager (Brian Taylor) through the church office.

Working closely with the project team, the WPC finance team have secured the building loan for the project. Whilst we are incredibly thankful for the faithful financial support by so many to date, we would be delighted to hear from anyone who is not currently making donations to the project and is in a position and mind to do so. Please contact the church office for further information on how to do this.

As always, your prayerful and financial support are greatly appreciated as we embark on this amazing journey in the life of WPC in furtherance of God’s kingdom in Waringstown.
