Pathfinders and Discoverers

In Waringstown we teach our children about God’s great love for them and what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

Pathfinders and Discoverers are fun programmes for children aged from pre-school to P7 (Pathfinders: Pre-School to P4 and Discoverers: P5-P7). They take place during the Sunday morning services at 9.30am and 11.30am. Our children are an integral part of our church and we worship together as a full church family at the start of the morning services and then mid-way through the children leave for their Pathfinders and Discoverers programme.

The programme comprises:

  •         Praise and worship
  •         Prayer
  •         Bible stories and activities centred around God’s word, including memory verses. We follow Scripture Union teaching materials: Bubbles, Splash and XStream. All the children learn the same theme at their own age-appropriate level, so they can share this together within their families.

During July and August, when church service is at 10:30am, Pre-school to P4 children  leave part way through for their own  ‘children’s church’ programme

We also have the privilege of being able to support the PCI Sunday School Project each year, plus at Waringstown we also sponsor a child through ‘Compassion’

Hanna Habitamu

Hanna is aged 23 and lives in Ethiopia.

She lives with her mum (called Elenesh) She has one older brother (Yered), who has now left home.

Unfortunately her dad was killed in an accident some years ago.

Birthday: 25th September 1999

Interests: Hanna goes to Hama School near Agaro, in Ethiopia and likes studying and wants to be a doctor when she grows up as she wants to help patients!

Her favourite bible verse is Luke 1:37

Money collected at Pathfinders and Discoverers goes to help buy clothes, shoes and food for Hanna. It also allows Compassion Staff to work alongside Hanna, to disciple her and help her make positive plans for the future.

Twice a year we correspond with Hanna by sending and receiving letters where we tell each other our news.

Please remember Hanna in your prayers.
